We love her images. We love Ellen’s story. And as a Melbourne wedding photographer, she’s exactly the kind of person you’ll love having beside you on your wedding day.

I spent the majority of the last ten years doing so in the form of taking pictures of new families on smart phones, as I happen to also be a midwife. And, whilst these might seem like two completely conflicting careers, they actually significantly overlap. Midwifery is about guiding people through one of the most significant times of their lives, and wedding photography is much the same. I also love meeting and collaborating with couples, other vendors, and building this business. It’s really highlighted how beautiful people can be, how powerful emotions are, and how many memories should be documented.

EJ Images is a brand born out of love, not only for photography, but for the art of being with, and capturing, people.

One of my earliest memories of my dad was dawdling into his garage, to see him at a light table. If I’m completely honest, I’m not certain what he was doing, but I know it had something to do with photography.

He captured products and landscapes, and I, ever defiant, prefer photographing people.

As a photographer, my aim is a collaboration. I want to create a gallery that has elements of art, fashion, and of most importance – the people and things you love. My style is mostly documentary, but with a dedicated portrait session aiming for more editorial style images.

Final Thoughts…

I’m so grateful to be on this journey, and not knowing if I’ll get the opportunity to feature in anything like this again, I’d like to thank everybody who’s helped spark this fire, including my family, Rhea and Connor and Luxe & Loved for featuring me in their first behind the brand.

With love, Ellen from EJ Images xo
